There are many differences, as well as many similarities between Coaching & Counselling. Where coaching and counselling crossover is that both provide a helpful relationship with a person to support their wellness and growth and both are totally confidential and non-judgmental.
Coaching is future-focused, while Counselling is often concentrated on past pain or current challenges. Counselling deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict. Therapy outcomes often include improved emotional/feeling states. While positive feelings/emotions may be a natural outcome of coaching, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals.

What has caused the growth in demand for Executive & Life Coaching?
There are many aspects in today’s society that has led to the increased demand for coaching. The pace of life now is very fast and is constantly changing and evolving. Along with this ever changing society, individuals are embarking on their personal developmental journeys. People are constantly talking all the time, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram but who are we talking to and who is listening? In today’s world we all do a huge amount of talking but the format for our conversations has changed very much over the last few years. Many of our conversations are carried out over the net, in isolation on I pads, laptops, text messages etc., often with people we have never met before and sometimes we have no idea if these people are really genuine, trustworthy or credible. People are talking but not many are listening. They find their lives are out of balance and as a consequence their health, happiness and overall wellbeing is being compromised.

How can I help you?
As a qualified Coach I am truly passionate in helping people reach their full potential to achieve the success they yearn for in whatever area of their life they wish to focus on. I can do this because I know what it is like to walk in your shoes.
After 20 years I finally got the courage to change career direction which totally shot me out of my comfort zone and made me face many of my fears. Going from the Private Sector into the Corporate World was such a culture shock but this was the best decision of my life and one that helped me to become the person I am today.
Over the next 15 years while still rearing my family, I embraced and enjoyed every challenge that came my way. From Education Training to Software & Finance management my passion throughout was to share my experience and help others to see the potential within themselves.
After taking early retirement I knew I still had another part of my journey to complete, I recognised that Coaching was the area where I could use my skills, strengths and experience to help others realise that their options are unlimited and by taking that first step they too can enhance and enrich their lives.
As the old adage says “if you continue to do the same things – you will continue to get the same results!”
Are you ready to become the best version of yourself?
